For the first time in the 41-year history of the Phillip A. Connelly Awards for Excellence in Army Food Service, a Fort Jackson dining facility has taken home the Connelly cup. The 2d Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment DFAC was honored at a ceremony on April 4th in Atlanta.

Fort Benning has been named the best large Army DFAC in the southeast and was up against seven other Army large facilities worldwide for the best in the world award known as the the Phillip Connelly Excellence in Army Food Service Award.
